Catalytic Asymmetric α-Iminol Rearrangement: New Chiral Platforms
A series of 19 different asymmetric catalysts were screened in an effort to identify the first chiral catalyst for the rearrangement of α-hydroxy imines to α-amino ketones involving a 1,2-carbon shift. Although aluminate complexes of VAPOL, VANOL, and 7,7'-(t)Bu2VANOL were quite effective catalysts giving up to 88% ee, the ne plus ultra catalyst for this reaction was found to be a zirconium com...
متن کاملNew catalytic asymmetric strategies to access chiral aldehydes.
The present article describes the recent catalytic asymmetric methods developed in our group to access enantioenriched chiral aldehydes. We are generally aiming at developing complementary strategies based on either homogeneous organometallic catalysts or amino-catalysts and sometimes on a combination of both. Recent successes comprise a perfectly redox-economical iridium-catalyzed asymmetric ...
متن کاملNew chiral ferrocenyldiphosphine ligand for catalytic asymmetric transfer hydrogenation
New chiral ferrocenyldiphosphine ligands (R)-(S)-3 and (R)-(S)-4 were prepared. The ligands were employed in Ru(II) catalyzed asymmetric transfer hydrogenation of ketones to give corresponding secondary alcohols. Up to 99% conversion with 90% e.e. was obtained on Ru(DMSO)4Cl2/4 in transfer hydrogenation of acetophenones with propan-2-ol. © 2003 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
متن کاملA new chiral ruthenium complex for catalytic asymmetric cyclopropanation
A new chiral ruthenium complex 6, featured with an N,O-mixed polydentate ligand, was synthesized and characterized. This ruthenium complex showed high efficiency in catalytic cyclopropanations of alkenes with diazoacetates. High trans/cis selectivity and enantioselectivity (up to 96%) were achieved with the readily accessible ethyl diazoacetate as the reagent. © 2002 Elsevier Science Ltd. All r...
متن کاملAsymmetric rearrangement of racemic epoxides catalyzed by chiral Brønsted acids.
This paper describes a chiral Brønsted acid catalyzed asymmetric 1,2-rearrangement of racemic epoxides via a hydrogen-shift process for the synthesis of chiral aldehydes, and, followed by a reduction, a variety of optically active alcohols can be furnished in moderate yields with up to 50% ee. Especially, a facile one-pot synthesis of chiral alcohols directly from simple alkenes by a sequential...
